I took daughter number two to look at the paintings from yesterday. And while she looked for the first time, I concentrated on getting up close to eyes and lips and noses. After that we went for a stroll down by the river. Remember, we are right in the middle of the city. And Melbourne is a city of about 4 million. It is a real contrast and the sad thing is so few people who live here don’t have much of an idea.
The water isn’t part of the river. It is a swamp and the sound of frogs was intense.
But back to the girl in the derelict house. Just her eyes and nose and mouth.
And just to remind you – these are all the size of a wall of a smallish room. So the size of each portrait is huge and how he gets the proportions right I do not know.
