Coronavirus camping

A small boy’s lament.

I haven’t seen my grandma or my grandpa

And I haven’t seen my aunt or uncle too.

I played outside alone with my puppy

But I’d really like to play outside with you.

Last night we put a tent up in the garden

And pretended we were camping on our own

But my little baby brother started crying

So mummy came and took our brother home.

We stayed there ‘til eleven past our bedtime

And daddy turned the light out on the porch

I made a noise that sounded like a dragon

So Joe got mad and went and hid the torch.

It started raining and the grass got soggy

And my sleeping bag got very, very wet,

We went inside and daddy made us chocolate

Then we went to bed. And Mummy won her bet.
