Sunshine on a cold world

I know it’s cold in Europe and very cold in the US so just remember this: that sun that I am looking at from Ballarat is the same sun that you are hoping for where you are. All you have to do is to be just a teensy weensy bit patient. It will shine.

I wrote a bit of a poem a few years ago and today I reprise it.

TEXAS

I have never been to Texas

And now that I am old

I guess I’ll never get to Texas

Or so I have been told.

But today I saw the sunrise

On a bright and warming day

While over there in Texas

It was cold and it was grey.

But the sun that sets on Texas

In a half a dozen hours

Is the sun I saw this morning –

It is yours and it is ours.
